Second Life for Cell Phones

Snowcrash_book_cover For those of you who can’t get enough of Second Life, here comes S! Town. Created by Gemini Mobile, this “virtual world built from the ground up for the mobile phone” is coming to America soon. Already popular in Japan, this new world will not only mimic Second Life’s environment where people can shop and hang out (based on Neal Stephenson's novel Snow Crash), but also its ad model. Brands will appear on billboards and S! Town avatars will be encouraged to don the latest designer styles from sponsor companies. Wonder how many Linden dollars (Second Life currency) ad placements will cost?
